This school is oriented to professionals in the need of expanding their knowledge on Primary Immunodeficiencies for their daily work, due to the absence of reference centers for PIDs in their surroundings.

The Laboratory for Inborn Errors of Immunity at the KU Leuven (Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology/Immunology/Transplantation, Prof. Dr. Isabelle Meyts) is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student. It is with deep emotion that the ESID board announces the passing of Professor Claude Griscelli on May 7th in Rabat, Morocco. A paediatrician, world-renowned immunologist, former Director of the Inserm institute and founding President of the Institute Imagine in Paris, Professor Griscelli leaves behind an inestimable scientific and human legacy, entirely committed to children’s health and biomedical research.

World PI Week 2026: Advancing Awareness, Collaboration, and Care
From 22 to 29 April, the global community comes together to mark World PI Week – an annual international campaign dedicated to raising awareness of Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs). This initiative unites patient organizations, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the wider public in a shared call to action: work together to improve recognition, diagnosis, and care for people living with these conditions.
ESID 2026 Behind the Scenes: Site Visit and Board Meeting in Maastricht
In February the ESID 2026 Local Organising Committee and the ESID Board gathered in Maastricht, the Netherlands for an important milestone on the road to the 22nd Biennial ESID Meeting. The visit to Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre (MECC Maastricht) which will be the host venue of the Meeting, offered an opportunity to review preparations on site, align strategic priorities, and fine-tune the details that will shape ESID 2026.

The 4th ESID PID Care in Development (PIDCD) School took place from 11–13 December 2025 at the Briig Boutique Hotel in the beautiful coastal city of Split, Croatia. This educational event brought together healthcare professionals from across the globe with a shared commitment to improving the care of patients with Primary Immunodeficiencies (PIDs).
ESID Diagnostic Workshop, Freiburg, September 2025 – Advancing PID Diagnostics
The 7th edition of the ESID Diagnostic Workshop took place from 15–17 September 2025 at the Schloss Reinach Hotel in Freiburg, Germany. The event was organized by ESID, under the guidance of Clara Franco Jarava, Chair of the ESID Education Working Party, and Professor Klaus Warnatz from the University of Freiburg.
ESID Summer School 2025: Empowering the Next Generation of PID Experts
This May, the ESID Summer School 2025 brought together 25 passionate junior clinicians and researchers from 15 countries, alongside 10 renowned faculty members, for four unforgettable days of learning, collaboration, and connection in the coastal town of Castelldefels, near Barcelona, Spain.
