The Laboratory for Inborn Errors of Immunity at the KU Leuven (Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology/Immunology/Transplantation, Prof. Dr. Isabelle Meyts) is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student. Our lab investigates the genetic and molecular basis of inborn errors of immunity, with a strong focus on translational and fundamental research.
Project
The PhD project will focus on unraveling the pathophysiological mechanisms of novel genetic immune disorders through a combination of next-generation sequencing, in vitro functional assays, and in vivo models. Our goal is to understand how specific gene defects lead to immune dysregulation and to identify potential therapeutic strategies.
This position is intended for candidates who aim to apply for a PhD Fellowship Fundamental Research (FWO). The selected candidate will receive full support in the preparation and submission of the FWO application.
