Protocol Repository for IEI Diagnostics

The ESID Educational Working Party is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative: the Collaborative ESID Protocol Repository for Inborn Errors of Immunity (IEI) Diagnostics.

This initiative aims to serve as a first step towards harmonization of laboratory tests and practices for PID diagnostics by providing a user-friendly online repository. The space will be designed to allow laboratories to share, access, and refine diagnostic protocols while fostering collaboration and strengthening knowledge exchange within the ESID community and beyond.

The repository will feature:

• Detailed protocol descriptions – including versions adapted to different laboratory resources and workflows.
• User ratings and feedback (coming up) – highlighting protocols most widely used and trusted.
• Interactive comment sections (coming up) – allowing colleagues to exchange experiences, troubleshoot challenges, and improve practices together.

How to contribute?

Submitting your laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is simple:

1. Download the ESID Laboratory SOP Form here.
2. Complete the ESID Laboratory SOP Form following the standardized template and  Submit it Here.
3. Once submitted, your protocol will be published in the ESID repository and made accessible to members.

Why you should participate?

By contributing 1–3 protocols from your laboratory, you will:

• Receive recognition – your name and institution will be credited on every protocol you submit.
• Increase visibility – showcase your laboratory’s expertise to the global ESID community.
• Strengthen your engagement with ESID – participation will be acknowledged as an active contribution to the society’s work.
• Help create a valuable resource that supports accurate and efficient IEI diagnostics worldwide.
