Join us at the ESID 2026 Summer School for an immersive and insightful workshop designed to enhance your ability to screen, diagnose, and treat PID patients!
If you are inspired by a career in the field of primary immunodeficiencies, whether in the clinic, the lab, or a combination, this will be an excellent opportunity to update your knowledge, hear about the latest diagnostic tools, and learn from leaders in the field who see and manage patients with the whole spectrum of primary immunodeficiency, while also networking and socialising with your colleagues.
Dates & Venue
The ESID Summer School 2026 will take place from 14th May to 17th May 2026 in Hotel Playafels (Playa Ribera de San Pedro, 1-9, Carrer Ribera de Sant Pere, 1-9, 08860 Castelldefels, Barcelona, SPAIN).
Faculty
The faculty will be headed by Clara Franco-Jarava and Antonio Marzollo, Chairs of Education and Juniors Working Parties. Other faculty members include the leading experts in the field of PID: Despina Moshous, Michael Albert, Stefano Volpi, Sophie Hambleton, Siobhan Burns and Alexandra Kreins.

Online Applications
The ESID Education WP will select 25 Junior members based on their past and present work in PID, their future career development in the field and their involvement in ESID activities. For successful applicants, ESID will cover accommodation and meals. Accommodation for participants will be covered by ESID on a shared-room basis. Travel and personal expenses are not covered.

Travel Grants
A limited number of travel grants will be available. Please indicate in the Application form if you would like to apply for a travel grant and complete the related section.
Please note that the number of grants available is limited. Acceptance to the school does not guarantee that a travel grant will be awarded. If granted, the travel support will cover expenses up to a maximum of 500 EUR.
Requirements:
- Be an ESID Junior Member with an active membership for the year 2025 (upon acceptance to participate in the School, you need to renew your membership for the year 2026 as well). Please head to the Membership Section for more information on becoming a member or renewing your membership. If you are not currently an ESID Junior Member, you need to become a Junior Member or renew your Junior membership before applying for the ESID Summer School.
- Preference will be given to candidates training for PID who have not yet attended a Summer School in Australia/USA/EU.
- Documents:
- Personalized letter of support from your Head of Department or similar (please note that we only accept 1 application per head of department). All applications supported by 1 same person will be rejected.
- Case of PID (or suspected PID), which you would like to present at the ESID Summer School. The case should be educational and not just “tricky” (max. 3 PowerPoint slides in a PDF format).
