Every year, ESID Education and Junior Working Parties coordinate two calls to offer different types of fellowships and grants. Here you can find detailed information on the type of fellowships, the eligibility criteria and the application process.
Type of Fellowships and Grants
- Short-term & Medium-term Fellowship
These ESID Fellowships are designed to provide financial support (personal expenses) to physicians or scientists in training interested in learning diagnostic/therapeutic procedures or lab techniques in the field of Primary Immunodeficiencies.
Short-term fellowship
Duration: Each short-term program should last between 1-2 months.
Funding: ESID is awarding EUR 1’500€ plus up to EUR 500 as travel support. 100% of the amount will be received at the beginning of the fellowship. Travel costs can be claimed after the completion of the fellowship and approval of the final report from the ESID office.
Medium-term fellowship
Duration: Each fellowship should last at least 3 months up to 6 months.
Funding: ESID is awarding EUR 1’000 per month of your stay plus up to EUR 500 as travel support. 50% of the amount will be received in the beginning of the fellowship. The remainder amount and the travel costs will be paid upon the submission and approval of the final report.
- Bridge Grant Fellowship
ESID wants to invest in the future of researchers and clinicians committed to PIDs. Therefore, ESID Bridge Grants aim to allow trainees working on PIDs to continue their activity in the field of PID in their institution or another institution during short periods of time until they can find other financial sources, thus avoiding the interruption of their training process.
Duration: Each bridge grant program should be up to a maximum of 6 months.
Funding: ESID is awarding EUR 1’500€/month during a maximum of 6 months.
Note: Applicants with other funding sources will be excluded from the selection process of the Bridge Grant fellowship
