Apply to volunteer before Thursday, 9th November 2023.

Prof. Siobhán Burns, the chair of the ESID Clinical Working Party (CWP), is looking for two ESID Juniors who would be interested in working with the CWP over the next 3-6 months to make a priority list for future ESID Clinical Guidelines!

This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the Juniors to actively contribute to the mission of the CWP and the wider ESID community to improve the awareness, diagnosis, treatment and understanding of immune system disorders. Through the establishment of these guidelines, the selected Juniors will directly contribute to the development of a clinical best practice strategy which promotes scientific excellence, and which sets the standard for our speciality.

Involvement in this initiative will also be of enormous benefit to any ambitious researcher, boosting their professional profiles amongst the specialist network affiliated with the CWP.

Successful applicants to this initiative would oversee the following tasks:

1. Complete a literature search for existing guidelines/ best practice articles in IEI (using a software such as Rayyan) and present this to the CWP in a CWP meeting.

2. Develop an on-line survey that the CWP can send to the ESID community to explore what guidelines people want.

3. Analyse the results of the survey and present this back to the CWP.

4. Work with the CWP to develop a priority list.

The two selected applicants would be tasked with completing the first draft of a literature review by Monday, 11th December which is when the next CWP meeting takes place. This would enable the selected volunteers to allocate enough time towards completing the initial literature review throughout November.

Additional support and assistance for the software training will be personally provided by Siobhán Burns,

To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send your CV and a brief email outlining why you would like to do this and whether you have any experience in literature searches or developing surveys to   by COB Thursday, 9th November.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome by Monday, 13th November.

For any questions about the future Guidelines, or about the application process, please contact Siobhán Burns directly.
