Elections 2018 - Call for Candidates is closed!
Dear ESID members, We are pleased to invite you to actively participate in this year’s ESID Board elections, and in particular to consider nominating yourself for a board position.
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to actively participate in this year’s ESID Board elections, and in particular to consider nominating yourself for a board position. For ESID to have a successful future we very much need applications for these positions from our membership, so please do put yourself forward, without you we cannot exploit all the wonderful opportunities that we have to help shape the future of ESID.
One prerequisite for applying and voting is that you are an ESID member, which implies that you must have paid your 2018/2019 membership dues. If you have not yet renewed your membership, please click here.
Our current president, Prof. Andrew Cant will continue serving the board as the Past-President for another two years while Prof. Isabelle Meyts will enter her new role as the ESID President.
Dr. Andy Gennery, our Clinical Working Party chairperson, and Dr. Arjan Lankester, our Inborn Errors Working Party chairperson have served for two years and will continue serving the board for another two years. Prof. Fabio Candotti and Dr. Mirjam van der Burg will also continue serving the board as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively for another two years.
The following Working Party Chairpersons have served 4 years and have reached the end of their mandates:
- Genetics: Dr. Kaan Boztug
- Registry: Dr. Nizar Mahlaoui
- Education: Dr. Eleonora Gambineri
- PID Care in development: Dr. Peter Jandus
- ESID Juniors: Dr. Peter Olbrich
Therefore the chairperson positions of these working parties need to be filled.
A number of people have asked what is the scope and work involved in becoming a board member and chairing a working party. With the help of the current working party chairs, the board has put together the ‘job descriptions’ below to help answer these questions. They are for guidance and are not ‘written in stone’, indeed we very much encourage potential candidates to talk to or email the current chairs, and to bring their own proposals and ideas.
